As the year comes to a close I like to reflect on all the positive and negatives that I faced during this year. I’m not going to lie but I’m pretty disappointed when everyone keeps saying YES 2016 IS FINALLY OVER. Sure it was an interesting year in all spectrums but isn’t that every year? Obviously we had a very interesting election but as the weeks and months go by I came to realize you just have to accept and move on. Regardless of what party you support. There are SO many great things that happened in 2016 to our country and I think we should all reflect on the positives. The sun always rises every day regardless of what happened the day before. Never forget that.
2016 was a very exciting year for me! I quit my dream job in the city that I wasn’t a big fan of, moved back to the East Coast, found a new and amazing job, fell in love with NYC all over again, and shared some incredible moments with friends (new and old) and family. I am extremely grateful of everything the Lord has blessed me with this year. As glamorous as it sounds, life wasn’t all peachy this year. I lost a close relative, my rent increased significantly, and getting adjusted to a new city and new job isn’t as easy as you think. However, I know for a fact that all those negatives have shaped me into a more independent woman and I am grateful for that.
As the New Year comes closer, I get excited like most for a fresh start. I rarely share my New Years resolutions because I think it is something that we should keep to ourselves and challenge ourselves on our own. Sure going to the gym more is always on my list and that is something that I am happy to share in hopes I find a partner to motive me on that journey! But the more deeper resolutions or goals that I want to accomplish, I am just fine keeping those to myself.
Before I share with you some fun memories and pictures that I captured along the way, I want to sincerely thank you for being part of this journey with me the past year. I truly enjoy reading your comments and sharing part of my life with you. Blogging is something that is very unique and I am ever so grateful for your support along the way. Splash of Preppy would not be where it is today without your endless support. So I thank you for that, with all my heart.
Beautiful view on my run home in the summer. Man I miss those warm nights.
Still freaking out that I went to Adele’s concert in MSG. I still have my ticket hoping that she says “ok everyone who went to MSG on 9/23 can come back to another concert in April”. Yes… I’m that girl.
Enjoyed some fun in the sun in Naples,FL.
Gotta have some fun on Christmas, right?!
Yup so this happened. I wore two different shoes to work the Tuesday after the 4th of July. Talk about long weekend struggles.
Such a fun spot to go to in Meatpacking District in NYC!
