3 Steps To A Fall Ready Closet

Since September is here and I am currently looking at my closest. I figured  that I put together a list of my 3 fall essentials in every wardrobe once fall rolls around the corner.

(1) Your Closet Needs A Good Clean

Think Spring cleaning but for Fall. When a new major season rolls around (think fall and spring) I usually go through a massive cleaning spree through my closet. It is a perfect time to get rid of (and donate) items of clothing that you did not touch in the previous season. I know there are many items in my closet that I didn’t wear and isn’t of keeping it, it is the perfect opportunity to donate those items. My rule of thumb is always to donate 2 pieces of clothing for 1 new piece that I purchase. It is sometimes hard to do since I become so attached to everything I own but I know it is something that I need to do.

(2) Invest In A Good Vest / Jacket

I love fall clothing, and fall in general. The layers and the crisp air can make my heart melt. I have so many jackets in my closet and vests but I wear them ALL the time in the fall. Below are a couple of my favorite pieces!Screen Shot 2016-08-31 at 3.13.39 PM

(3) Dry-clean

On top of doing a good fall cleaning, one thing that I always do is either send some summer dresses or my winter peacoats to the dry cleaner. For some reason I always tend to find it a little easier just doing a big trip to the cleaner. It is a way to get all the summer apparel nice and clean to hangout in the closet for a couple of months and to freshen up your coats that you will be getting a lot of use in during the upcoming months.

What are your fall to do’s?
