You Are What You Eat

Happy Friday y’all! We made it through another week, phew! I am excited to catch up this weekend and spend some much needed time outside and with friends. As you all know, I take my personal health and wellness very seriously. I am always on the lookout for new face washes, sunscreen, masks, you name it. To me your appearance really reflects what you eat and I personally believe the healthier you eat the more your skin will glow. And don’t we want our summer glow to last months especially into the cold weather?

Every morning I start my day with a warm glass of water with lemon. This not only has helped my digestive system but it has really made a significant difference to my skin. Isn’t it crazy how good food can do such great things?! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good cheat day(s). My obsession with ice cream is unreal but I try so hard to be good about it. Life is all about balances and it is important to treat yourself when the time is right.

Since I have been a working girl for some time now, I have found that snacking can destroy your diet / health. However, if you do a lot of research you can find so many great healthy snacks out there that CAN be delicious! Below I have put together my top 5 favorite snacks that I believe any person can incorporate into their routine.

(1) Goji Berries

These things are literally the best. Not only do they taste good but they have so many antioxidants packed into such a small thing! I love adding these things to a greek yogurt or even in my trail mix!

(2) Cacao Nibs

YES healthy eating can be delicious. These little nibs are great to add to cookies or trail mix!

(3) Matcha Green Tea

Is it just me or is everyone drinking matcha green tea lately? I have seen so many posts on Instagram and different bloggers loving this stuff lately. I have yet to try but I am so excited to do so. Matcha has so many incredible benefits which include detoxifying and help reduces stress!

(4) Chia Seeds

Let me just say, I LOVE chia seeds and I have been loving them for a long time now. I first added them to my smoothies for some extra protein and antioxidants but I have recently been adding them to my greek yogurt as well. There are oh so many great benefits in chia seeds. I am looking at these protein bites to make and you bet I will be adding chia seeds to them!

(5) Raw Almonds

Almonds are such a perfect snack. They have such great protein and taste so good. I have been snacking on almonds for years but I have also been eating almond butter on apples and bananas for something extra! So good.

All of these snacks I listed above are such great and healthy additions you can make to your diet. If you swap out all mostly all of your junk food for these great snacks not only will you start to feel better in the inside but your outside will glow even more!
