I was at Target the other day walking around the entire store, buying things that I didn’t need, and saw some great things. I honestly went into Target to purchase bananas and makeup wipes. NOPE…didn’t happen. I bought everything in the entire store besides bananas and makeup wipes. I’m sure you can all relate to that!
Over the past couple of months, I heard a lot about a little gadget called Fitbit so I checked it out at Target. It looks like a bracelet and it tracks all the steps you took, how many calories you burned, and how many miles you have walked or ran. Its pretty awesome. Since I walk to work every morning and do some walking throughout the day, I found this would be pretty cool to have. Since it’s New Years and all, I figured why not make this into a New Years resolution. My goal is to walk 10,000 steps a day and so far I have been doing that without putting any extra effort in. I’m thinking about changing my goal to 15,000 steps to make it more of a challenge for me. Another really neat feature is that if you wear it while you sleep, it tracks your sleeping patters. I always thought I was a person who falls asleep and doesn’t move throughout the night. Boy am I wrong. For example, last night the devise says I was restless (meaning moving around) for 31 minutes during my sleep. That seems like a lot to me. I have to admit that last night I had some really weird dreams so maybe that played a role? Who knows, but it is something that I want to keep monitoring.
I purchased the Fitbit Flex and even though it does’t show how many steps I took on the bracelet, you can download a free app and it syncs your bracelet in less than 5 seconds. There you can see how many steps you took, how many calories you burned, etc. It is an awesome device and I really recommend you all checking it out!
