Happy Friday everyone! I’m really excited to publish this weeks guest series blogger! I had the amazing opportunity to interview Carly from Chicago Prepster this week. I have been a huge fan of Carly’s for a while now so I couldn’t be more excited to interview her. She is a recent corporate girl, like me, so I feel like I can really relate to her! Thanks again Carly for letting me interview you!
(1) What inspired you to create Chicago Prepster?
I was inspired to start blogging after I took a “Writing for PR” class in college (I was a PR & advertising major). We had to create a blog and write a post about something relevant to our lives. So really, I created College Prepster for a class project! I have a background in design, and while I don’t get to use my graphic design skill in my full-time job, Chicago Prepster allows me to get my design fix!
(2) How would you describe your style?
I actually feel in-between styles right now because I’m still transitioning into the corporate world, but I would describe my style as “Comfy Preppy”. Fall is my favorite time of the year to style – I love layers with leggings and earth tones!
(3) What are three things that are on your Christmas wish list?
A pair of Warby Parker glasses, Sorel winter boots, and anything from Sephora!
(4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I don’t know if I’ll still be blogging in 5 years, but I do see myself becoming more committed to my career in advertising. I love Chicago, but I’m also hoping to live in a different part of the country before I settle down for good. I’d love to move to the East Coast or down south.
(5) For people who just started blogging, what advice would you give them?
Don’t let the haters bring you down! When I first started blogging, I had a lot of people anonymously commenting on my blog telling me I wasn’t original. Hateful messages actually fueled me to blog even more to show those people that their words didn’t effect me whatsoever. Do what you love and stay true to yourself!
Be sure to comment and let me know what other bloggers you would like me to interview. Have a great weekend everyone!
