Guest Series: Bonjour Blue

I usually post my Guest Series on a Wednesday but I seriously couldn’t wait another day / hour / second. I had the amazing opportunity to interview Samantha from Bonjour Blue. I have always enjoyed Samantha’s blog because she is originally from the east coast and has made her way to the midwest (like me). She has an amazing sense of style and sure knows how to write some amazing posts. So Samantha, thank you so much for letting me interview you! Be sure to check out her amazing blog!

(1) What inspired you to create Bonjour Blue?

I began Bonjour Blue as a creative outlet for something I had always loved, fashion. I was always giving styling advice or being my friends personal shoppers so for me I really looked at it as an expansion of something I already did. When I began, I really didn’t have too much of an idea of what I was getting into and definitely had not a clue as to what it could turn into or where I saw it going; however, I have to say, I’ve enjoyed the journey more then I ever imagined!

(2) What is your favorite part about being a blogger?

My favorite part are the people I’ve had the opportunity to work with and the world it has opened up to me. Without it, I probably would not have had the opportunity to intern in the fashion industry this past summer.

(3) Who are your style icons?

Olivia Palermo definitely tops the list, I just love how she always pulls off the classy cool girl look. I constantly find myself looking through images of the outfits she’s pulled together wondering how I can recreate a look. Of course Audrey Hepburn and Kate Middleton are two of my style icons, but honestly, they’re probably on most of our lists because they’re such classics. I also love Victoria Beckham, she is a little more edgy, but I still love her style.

(4) In your closet, what are the 3 pieces that are essential for fall?

I recently bought a statement necklace and have been wearing it with absolutely everything so I have to say that is certainly on the list of essentials. Check it out here. When I’m at school I live in an olive green vest I bought from J.Crew a few years ago, it is an absolute staple for fall. Pointed tow flats are another staple for my fall wardrobe, they’re so easy to throw on and work with everything from skinny jeans to party dresses.

(5) What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

“If you don’t shoot for the moon, how will you ever expect to land among the stars.” Honestly, I’m not really sure where or whom gave me this little sniper of advice but it is something I find myself repeating constantly. I’ve always been someone who dreams big so it has really stuck with me.

(6) For people who just started blogging, what advice would you give them?

Stay consistent. It can be really hard to keep turning out consistent content sometimes, especially when you’re balancing so many other things, but it is really one of the most important parts of maintaining a blog.

(7) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I hope to have the business I’ll be launching in a few months (stay tuned!) on fire and be the CEO of my own company along with continuing my style blog, as fashion is something I cannot imagine my life without.
