Quick Trip To NYC

Happy Thursday everyone! I feel like this week is flying by. There are many things that are coming up that are keeping me really busy. This Sunday, the moving company is coming to my house to take my bed, clothes, and lots of random stuff to my new city. With this being said, I have A LOT of things to do. My room looks like a tornado went through it but oh well. As mentioned in my previous post, I went to the city yesterday and spent the day there with my mom! It was a great fall day and we had a lot of fun. We took the short train ride from Connecticut to Grand Central in the morning. We decided that we wanted to do lots of walking since it was beautiful out. The first thing we did was going into Saks and Bergdorf Goodman. Those are my moms (and mine but can’t afford it) favorite stores. My mom bought a couple of beautiful things and I am very jealous! I wanted to stop by J.Crew by Rockefeller Plaza because I remembered J.Crew had their 25% off everything sale. Man did I get some great finds! Since I am starting my career, I focused on finding items of clothing I can wear to work. I purchased two wool skirts and I am obsessed. I have this wool skirt in a purple color from last season and I lived in it. It is an adorable length and looks great with boots and/or tights. I purchased this skirt in the chartereuse color and the black. I am so excited to wear these skirts and work and during the fall and winter seasons.

I also purchased this adorable scarf and I can’t wait to wear it! I have always been a scarf fan so this was a perfect addition to my collection.

After we spent a lot of time in J.Crew, I just wanted to go into Anthroplogie since they are next to each other and there are so many fabulous items of clothing in that store! I am obsessed with everything but I told myself I don’t need anymore clothes since I am moving and it would be much easier to purchase the clothes after I am all settled in my apartment in my new city. But here are some pieces I found and will definitely purchase later: Ali Henley Blouse, Idoya Tunic, and the Tiled Amethyst Dress.

My mom and I decided to walk, walk, and walk all through out Central Park. It was beautiful outside so it was absolutely perfect. We decided to stop by Sarabeth’s and get a yummy lunch. I am obsessed with Sarabeth’s during brunch but my mom and I decided to go for their Caesar Salad. It was still amazing and we couldn’t be happier.

My mom and I then went into Mackezie-Childs to walk around. My mom is obsessed with this store and I am soon becoming obsessed as well. My mom decided to purchase this beautiful bowl for me as an apartment housewarming gift. It is beautiful and I can’t wait to put it on my kitchen counter!

We did some more walking around in the afternoon and then decided to head back home. Before we took the train home, I had to go to Magnolia Bakery and bring home a cupcake for dessert. The cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery are amazing. Whenever I am in the city, I always have to eat one! This time I got a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting… it was delicious. While walking to Grand Central I saw the beautiful sunset and it just defined a perfect evening and day in NYC.

Have a great Thursday! XOXO
